Menswear Wool couch

This client decided to go from floral to a little more masculine. She chose a wool, menswear fabric. I love the way it turned out. She was ready to get rid of the couch when her designer talked her into slipcovering it. She was hesistant at the word slipcover... but went for it anyways. She LOVED it. It changed the whole feel of the room. So much better.

OH...I forgot to ask, I've always wondered, when you do the slipcovers do you remove the original upholstry and cover the cushions and frame with muslin?

I am interested in the question that Brandi asked. Once the sofa is covered with the new gray fabric, I can't see any indication of the welting that was on the floral fabric. So do you remove it?

The slipcover just lays over the top of the original floral. SO the original is left completely in tact. I did remove the back (that you lean on) cushion covers before I put the new covers on because the original had a single row of piping, instead of being boxed with two rows of piping. I didnt' want to see the single row bulging piping through the fabric so I unzipped them and took them off.

okay, so you are AMAZING! I just sent you an email about a quote for my couch. I am so impressed with your ability! If you want a good laugh, come and check out my first experience with slipcovering... this is why I'm hiring someone to make one for the couch! :)

It's great to see a slipcover in a fabric other than white. I love this tailored look.
